Lineage
The Buddhist teachings and methods are handed down from teacher to pupil following an oral tradition, a tradition that is ultimately traceable all the way back to the Buddha Shakyamuni himself. This tradition gives us an assurance of quality and authenticity.

Reading Bibliotheek Ommoord: How Can I Find Inner Peace?
04 February 2012
In our daily lives, we are often confronted with stress, worries, and fears. These negative emotions lead to a lot of distress. It is possible to maintain inner peace amidst disharmony. Buddhism has many techniques that make this possible. We probably can't get rid of our difficulties right away, but we can learn to accept them, to let go, and to meet them in a relaxed way. In such a way, we can learn to enjoy the present moment, let go of the negative, and see the positive in our lives.
Reading: The Source of Joy (Part 4 in the series on the Four Immesurables)
05 February 2012
We don't realize that it's possible to come into contact with a deep seeded source of joy and appreciation in our lives. This isn't a temporary search for pleasure based on ego that our modern society offers us, but a feeling of appreciation in the happiness and the qualities of others. Such a positive attitude on the happiness of others lends inspiration to our own spiritual life, and gives new meaining to our lives.
Weekend on the Sangha (last weekend in the series on the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha)
11 February - 12 February 2012
The Sangha: The Peace CommunityThere's often mention of the Sangha within Buddhism. This refers to Bodhisattvas, those who have achieved a high degree of realization, in the formal sense of the word. It also refers to those with whom we walk the spiritual path. When we need to go someplace, it makes our journey easier and more joyful when we're accompanied by friends with the same motivation and goals. Since everything is interdependantly related, we can't do anything on our own, but must trust in others. By being apart of a Sangha, we learn skills that we can apply in other settings. In order to be happy, our families also need to be harmonious. Even companies are more successful when the employees feel that they are valued, and that they can make a positive contribution.
