The program of the retreat is made up of two parts: a weekend and a subsequent week. You can attend either the weekend, the week, or both.

In Search of Inner Peace
Everyone is in search of happiness. This goal remains unattainable until we achieve inner peace. According to the teachings of the Buddha inner peace isn't far away from us. It is, in fact, our true nature. In order to cultivate inner peace, we have to discover the ever-present spaciousness within our own minds, and allow this to develop. During the retreat Tibetan teacher Lama Jigmé Namgyal will hold various lectures on this topic. The teachings can be used by everyone, regardless of religious beliefs.

Weekend Theme
During the weekend we'll explore the question of how we can discover happiness in various situations of our daily lives, such as at work, in contact with family and loved ones. We'll do this using methods that have been preserved in the Buddhist tradition.

Week Theme
During the week we'll search for the true nature of our minds, and focus on developing stability and lasting inner peace. We'll try to put this into practice in meditation. This is called  zhiné in Tibetan, and it means calm abiding.

Who is Lama Jigmé Namgyal?
Lama Jigmé Namgyal was born in 1973 into a nomadic family in Amdo, eastern Tibet. He grew up with the Buddhist teachings and studied at the University of Sethar Larung Gar, which was established by Khenpo Jigmé Phuntsok Rinpoche, whom Lama Jigmé regards as his foremost teacher. At the request of his teachers, Lama Jigmé decided to go to Europe, a big step, especially considering the differences in language and culture. Within a short time, Lama Jigmé learned English and founded Buddhist centers in Luxembourg and Rotterdam: Phuntsok Chü Ling.
