Chöd Retreat 2026

Cutting Through Ego-Clinging

Chöd – literally “cutting through” – is a unique and powerful Vajrayana practice that originates with the great Yogini Machig Labdrön (1055–1149). In Chöd we invite what we would normally avoid: our fears, attachments, and projections. Instead of fighting against them, we learn to face them directly and cut through them with the sharp wisdom of insight.

Chöd is more than a ritual. It is a living meditation that helps us release the very source of suffering – our clinging to a solid “self.” At its heart lies the practice of radical generosity: symbolically offering our own body as nourishment for all beings. In this way, fear and self-centredness dissolve, opening a space of compassion and fearlessness.

In daily life, Chöd teaches us to relate differently to difficulties. What would normally unsettle us can instead become a gateway to freedom and wisdom. In a world marked by uncertainty and tension, Chöd offers a path to courage and openness.

From July 24 to August 2, 2026, our precious teacher, Lama Jigmé Rinpoche, will guide us step by step through this profound practice. With his clear, practical, and warm approach, Rinpoche makes this ancient teaching accessible and directly relevant to our own lives.

This retreat is a rare opportunity to receive the authentic transmission of Chöd and to practice together in an atmosphere of trust, openness, and dedication.
