Eight Verses for Training the Mind 2026
8 Verses of Mind Training & Meditation
The Eight Verses for Training the Mind, composed by the Kadampa master Geshe Langri Tangpa (1054–1123), are a true jewel of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. For centuries, these brief yet profound verses have been treasured and transmitted because they show, in a simple and deeply transformative way, how to open the heart, deepen compassion, and turn everyday life into the path of practice. They invite us to see life’s challenges not as obstacles, but as precious opportunities to cultivate wisdom and compassion.
In today’s fast-paced and demanding world, the message of these verses may be more relevant than ever. How can we remain kind, open, and clear amid stress and uncertainty? How can we transform difficulties into fuel for inner growth? The Eight Verses offer guidance and encouragement in facing exactly these questions.
We are therefore deeply delighted that our precious teacher, Lama Jigmé Rinpoche, will dedicate the weekend of June 12-14, 2026 entirely to this classical teaching. In his characteristic clear, practical, and warm style, Rinpoche will guide us step by step through the essence of the verses and inspire us to integrate them into our own lives and actions.
This weekend is a rare opportunity to explore the timeless wisdom of the Eight Verses for Training the Mind under the guidance of an authentic master, and to practice together in an atmosphere of openness and dedication.
