Stichting Phuntsok Chö Ling

Phuntsok Chö Ling was founded by the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Lama Jigmé Rinpoche. All his activities and services are dedicated to the memory of his teacher, Khenpo Jigmé Phuntsok Rinpoche. The name Phuntsok Chö Ling was spread to the center by Kyabjé Trulshik Rinpoche, the teacher of H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, who passed away in 2011.

Tibetan Buddhism has a unique vision of human well-being and happiness. Under the guidance of Lama Jigmé Rinpoche, we aim to bridge the gap between an ancient culture of peace, wisdom, and compassion, and the Western way of life. Lama Jigmé Rinpoche connects his profound knowledge to our reality and beliefs, making Tibetan wisdom accessible to everyone, regardless of religion, age, or background.

We have a very international community of students who come to our center in Rotterdam every week. Please feel welcome to our community of buddhist practitioners.

Our lcoation

Since August 27, 2016, we have been located in our new center at Oostkousdijk 17b, on Coolhaveneiland in Delfshaven, Rotterdam. The new center, with an authentic temple space and spacious foyer (designed by COFO Architects), offers many opportunities for meditation and study classes, workshops and lectures, urban retreats, debates, and events. Developing new activities that emphasize collaboration with local organizations and initiatives is also a possibility. This will eventually provide us with the facilities to welcome neighbors for coffee and a meeting. We also want to become a place where the neighborhood can connect with each other. Listening to each other, meeting each other, and connecting are important elements in Buddhism, and particularly in the vision of Lama Jigmé Rinpoche.

Well-being of others

Phuntsok Chö Ling is committed to the well-being of others. We strive to contribute to the creation of a peaceful society. This begins with the students: through meditation, study, and instruction, they develop personal skills and are able to create harmony, balance, and inner contentment for themselves. In the hope that, in doing so, they will also create peace for those around them.

Our center’s core values are harmony, equanimity, openness, and connection. These core values aren’t just good intentions; they are actively and decisively put into practice, both in words and in action.
